The Boeing F-47 is a 6-generation fighter aircraft developed for the U.S. Air Force under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program. It’s designed to succeed the F-22 Raptor, with enhanced stealth, longer range, and greater adaptability to future threats. The F-47 will operate within a “family of systems,” including collaborative combat aircraft (drones), to achieve air superiority. Development of the F-47 has included extensive testing of X-plane prototypes, demonstrating advanced technologies and design concepts. The aircraft’s designation, F-47 is intended to honor the legacy of the P-47 during World War II.
